How to Choose the Photos for Your Wedding Album, and 2 Easy Ways to Send Them

By Gary Barrett, three-time Wedding Photographer of the Year

You have hundreds of wedding photos and one album to fill, so where do you start? We're often asked to pick the photos for you. As we don't know who is special to you, that's the one job we have to leave in your hands. The good news is that it's easier than it sounds, and there are two simple ways to do it.

First, decide how many photos you need

Start by choosing how many photos you would like in your album. A simple rule: multiply the number of pages by 2, or by 3 at most. A 40-page album suits about 80 photos, up to a maximum of 120.

For a full guide to pages and photos, see the tables on our How It Works page.

Then choose one of these two ways to send your photos

Option 1: Make a folder on your computer

  1. Create a new folder on your desktop.
  2. Add your favourite photos to it.
  3. Place your order. You'll receive an email straight away with your receipt and instructions on how to send us your folder. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

Please use the original full-size photos from your photographer, and send them from a computer rather than a phone.

Option 2: Heart your favourites in your online gallery

If your photographer gave you an online gallery with a favourites option, you may not need to download anything.

  1. Open the online gallery your photographer sent you.
  2. Click the heart icon on each photo you would like in the album. You can add or remove photos as you go, and your progress is saved automatically.
  3. When you're happy with your selection and have placed your order, email us your gallery log-in details at info@weddingalbums.ie.
  4. We'll download your favourites directly from the gallery and get to work.

What happens next

Once we have your photos, we design your album and email you the first draft within 3 working days. You turn the pages online and ask for any changes, and nothing is printed until you approve it.
